2014 - Jane E. Salmon, MD
Dr. Salmon is the Collette Kean Research Professor at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and professor of medicine and a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Salmon’s research focuses on the causes of tissue injury in patients with lupus. Her studies discovered the reasons for pregnancy loss and organ damage in lupus, identified predictors of risk for lupus-related pregnancy complications, kidney inflammation (nephritis), and cardiovascular disease, and pioneered new targets to prevent these disorders.
